Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get married in the state of California? Will you file the paperwork?

Couples must apply for a wedding license online or in-person in the county you are planning to be wed in. There are three different licenses couples can apply for; the most common one is known as a “Public License”, in which couples to be wed require a minimum of one witness. Our officiant would serve as your witness, as well as sign the license and file it within 10 days of your ceremony.

R&M Officiants CANNOT apply on your behalf for a marriage license in the state of California.

What is your booking and deposit policy?

So you’ve chosen to book us... Yay!
Our booking policy requires a 50% deposit of your ceremony price upon reservation confirmation to hold your date and officiant to ensure we do not overbook our team. During our initial email consultation, couples will be provided with a simple contract allocating the remaining 50% payment upon the day of the ceremony.

What if I have to cancel my booking?

We get it. Sometimes plans change.
Your deposit is 100% REFUNDABLE until 30 days from your ceremony date.
Your deposit becomes 50% REFUNDABLE until 14 days from your ceremony date.
If you have to cancel less than 14 days from your ceremony date, your deposit becomes NONREFUNDABLE due to scheduling commitments made to your appointment.

What if I need to reschedule my booking?

Similar to our cancellation policy, you may reschedule AT ANY TIME up until 30 days from your ceremony date with NO PENALTY, if the new date has not already been booked with your chosen officiant.
If we are no longer able to reschedule your booking, you will receive a FULL REFUND of your deposit, as long as it is no sooner than 30 days from your booking date.
If you need to reschedule any sooner than 30 days, our team will work with you to accommodate to the best of our availability for a small 20% fee.

My venue is outside the 30 mile travel radius. Will there be a charge?

All of our service packages include travel to any venue within 30 miles of San Jacinto, CA. Common ceremony locations that are included are areas such as Idyllwild, Temecula, Palm Springs, and Redlands. If you’re ceremony is outside of this radius there is a travel fee per mile beyond the 30 mile limit.
